Designing Meadows and Naturalized Landscapes for Volunteer Groups

Date:
Saturday, November 16, 2024 -
10:00am to 11:30am

Meadows and other naturalized landscapes are beautiful answers to the call for earthy-friendly native plantings. Yet, some down-to-earth thinking may be required to make these plantings successful in a community setting where volunteers are the designers and maintainers. Scale, proximity to visitors, sightlines, plant height, colors, pathways, edges, seating, signs, pre-existing vegetation, standards of care, water, disposal, and maintenance will be covered. This session focuses on creating the place and the project, not individual plant selections.

There will be time for questions, answers, and sharing among participants.

Sponsored by the Pollinator Pathway of Middletown, CT.

Free of charge and open to members of garden clubs, pollinator pathway projects, and other community planting groups--as well as those contemplating public plantings. Registration required.
